The Permanent Representative of Iraq, Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Bahr Al-Uloom, hosts Ms. Alice Wairimu Nderitu, Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on the Prevention of Genocide
The Permanent Representative of Iraq, Ambassador Muhammad Hussein Bahr Al-Uloom, hosted at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission in New York, Mrs. Alice Weremo Ndereto, Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on the Prevention of Genocide. Several important topics were discussed during the meeting, such as:
- The Special Adviser, Ms. Ndereto, presented an explanation of her recent visit to Iraq and her meetings with Iraqi officials to discuss the latest developments in the investigation file into the crimes of the terrorist organization ISIS.
- The permanent Represe3ntative Ambassador Bahr Al-Uloom, affirmed Iraq’s support for the efforts and mandate of the Special Adviser, and its readiness to cooperate in various fields that serve Iraq’s cause in justice from the terrorists and criminals who committed the most heinous crimes against the Iraqi people.
- The importance of the role of the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General in cooperation with the Iraqi government, especially the Iraqi judiciary, in promoting legal procedures that are compatible with the nature and specificity of the crimes committed, as well as the support mechanisms that the Special Adviser’s team can provide to Iraq by sharing the experiences of other countries and building national capacities
