Meeting of the First Committee

In his capacity as the chairperson of the First Committee of the 72 session of the GA, H.E. Mohammed Hussein Bahr AlUloom, Permanent Representative chaired the First Committee (Committee on Disarmament and International Security) meeting at the United Nations General assembly hall on 5/6/2018 to elect the new president and members of the Bureau of the First Committee for the upcoming 73 Session of the General Assembly.

Romania of the eastern European Countries group was elected as president of the committee for the next session, Brunei who represents Asia Pacific Countries group were elected as Rapporteur of the committee and Guyana who represent the Latin American and Caribbean Countries group as Vice-President. The office is still awaiting the nomination of the other regional groups for the positions of  vice-president.
