Iraq Elected for Membership of Commission on Population and Development

Iraq was elected for the membership of the Commission on Population and Development affiliated from the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) by the Asian Group for the period 2015 to 2017 during the elections held on April 8, 2015 at the UN HQ in New York.

The election came as a result of the active diplomatic efforts made by Iraq’s mission and the series of discussions with the Asian Group in the UN to guarantee winning the membership.
