The Permanent Representative, Ambassador Mohammed Hussain Bahr Al-Uloom, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, Mr. Abdullah Shahid, at the United Nations headquarters on 10/10/2022, to discuss a number of topics of interest to the two friendly countries, emphasizing the importance of continuing cooperation in various fields.

The two parties discussed Maldives candidacy to the Human Rights Council and its future role in supporting the work of the Council and the countries of the Asia-Pacific group and coordinating efforts to support the process of promoting human rights globally.

Also, Discussing the meeting of His Excellency Minister Fouad Hussein with His Excellency Abdullah Shahid on the sidelines of the meetings of the Non-Aligned Countries in Azerbaijan, and the latter’s aspiration to hold another meeting on the sidelines of the upcoming meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
