His Excellency the Minister of Justice, Mr. Salar Abdul Sattar Muhammad, delivered the speech of Iraq during the second high-level conference of national counter-terrorism agencies to be held by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism during the period 28-30 June 2021.
His Excellency participated in the main morning session entitled “The Global Threat of Terrorism: Assessing Current Threats and Emerging Risks for the Next Decade”. Where, he expressed the extent of the devastation caused by terrorism, and the great suffering it caused in terms of destruction, violence, extremism and crimes against humanity.
He also stressed Iraq’s keenness to strengthen cooperation mechanisms with the international community at various levels, in order to strengthen the bonds of global partnership aimed at eliminating terrorism in its various forms. He also called on the international community to achieve justice and ensure accountability for terrorists, as well as the need to restore the families of foreign terrorists.
