Minister of Foreign Affairs Delivers the statement of the Republic of Iraq at the High-Level Meeting on the twenty-fifth Anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women

Minister of Foreign Affairs Delivered the statement of the Republic of Iraq in the high-level meeting on the twenty-fifth Anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women, titled:” Accelerating the Realization of Gender Equality and the Empowerment of all Women and Girls”, held on Thursday 1 October 2020, on the margins of the high-level week of the Seventy-Fifth session of the United Nations General Assembly.

His Excellency reiterated that the Fourth World Conference on Women have called on the international community to implement programs guarantee equal opportunities for women in education and training, and that it called to support national efforts for the advancement of women all around the world, particularly the developing countries. In this regard, HE Fuad Hussein stressed:” Iraq reiterates its commitment to promote affirmative action for Iraqi women, and to economically, politically and socially empower them, thus ensuring their effective role as a source for economic recovery and promote women’s participation in the political decision-making and its implementation”.
