Statement by Iraq at meetings of the Fourth Committee under the item Assistance in mine action

First Secretary Wissam Walid al-Qaisi delivered Iraq’s statement under the item “Assistance in Mine Action” at the Fourth Committee on Special Political and Decolonization.

He reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to the efforts of the international community to work on mine clearance.

He also stressed the challenges faced by Iraq and other International Organizations working through the clearance of mines and unexploded ordnance left by ISIS, and all the losses resulting from them, and call the international community to strengthen technical support to continue the work to reduce risks and strive to turn Iraq into a secure and stable environment to ensure the safety of its citizens.
