On the sidelines of the high-level week of the work of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of Planning, Dr. Nuri Al-Dulaimi, represented Iraq in several meetings, including:

  • Joint Statement on Universal Health Coverage

This communiqué was announced on 23/9/2019, before the opening of the High Level Forum on Universal Health Coverage. The following countries joined the announcement (Iraq, USA, Bahrain, Belarus, Brazil, Congo, Egypt, Guatemala, Haiti, Hungary, Libya, Mali, Nigeria, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Yemen). The statement focuses on providing health support to women, men and children, considering that the family is the main institution of society and therefore should be supported and strengthened.

  • High-level Forum on Sustainable Development Goals

This Forum was held for the period 24-25 / 9/2019, and focused on the follow-up progress in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, to identify the most important obstacles impeding progress in achieving these goals within the specified period. The Conference adopted the political declaration entitled (Preparedness to a decade of work and achievement for sustainable development).

  • High-level Forum on Financing for Development

This forum was held on 26/9/2019, and the work of the Forum was divided into four discussion sessions, each panel discussion discussed issues related to actions taken by Member States to ensure sustainable and credible funding for the implementation of the SDGs. As well as obstacles to it. The Conference also reviewed a number of various international initiatives on financing for development
