High-Level Conference of Heads of Counter-Terrorism Agencies of Member-States

Iraq participates in the High-Level Conference of Heads of Counter-Terrorism Agencies of Member-States on 28-29/06/2018. The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior Gen. Maher Najim Al-Tae’e delivered the speech of Iraq at the third session of the conference focused on preventing violent extremism through youth involvement and preventing the bad use of the technology and internet. He also stressed on the existence of a strategic action plan of the Government of Iraq aiming to spread the culture of moderate thinking, respect different opinions, building a strategic moderate awareness to renounce violence, terrorism and extremism, create a culture and awareness of intellectual communications with all other ideologies in society, the principle respect the others, tolerance, empowerment and respect for women’s role and fight against fanaticism, racism and sectarianism as well as consolidating the respect of human rights.
