PR of Iraq meets with USG Special Advisor for the Prevention of Genocide

 

As part of the efforts to increase the corporation between Iraq and the United Nations, the Iraqi Permanent Representative Ambassador Bahr AlUloom met with USG Special Advisor for the Prevention of Genocide Mr. Adama Dieng On May 15th, 2018. During the Meeting, views were exchanged regarding the role of the United Nations in the upcoming phase particularly after the historic successes achieved by Iraq in expulsion the terrorist groups from Iraq and holding the General Elections on time despite major challenges of facilitating the democratic exercise and the right of voting for the displaced persons, refugees and migrants.

For his part, the Advisor of the Secretary-General expressed his great admiration of the positive steps taken by Iraq towards unity of the Iraqi society as well as cohesion and true desire to change. The Permanent Representative requested Mr. Adama Deng to offer every possible assistance to the Iraqi authorities in the investigation of Da’esh mass graves in the liberated areas.
