Ambassador meets the Russian President’s envoy to Middle East and Africa
On September 5, 2019, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Russian Federation, H.E. Haidar Mansour Hadi, met Russian President’s envoy to Middle East and Africa and the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Mikhail Bogdanov to discuss the bilateral relations and the latest political developments on the regional and international arenas.
During the meeting the parties exchanged views on the developments in the Arab Gulf region and the issue of collective security, also focused on fighting terrorism in Iraq and Syria.
Ambassador stressed on that security cooperation and joint coordination between Iraq and Russia to combat terrorism in the region are continuing through the Coordination Center in Baghdad, which was organized by Iraq, Russia, Iran and Syria, pointing out to that the Center contributed effectively in curtail the role of terrorist groups.
The two parties then discussed the ways of strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries in all sectors, stressing on that the celebration of the 75-th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations reflects the strength of the relationship between the two friendly countries. For his part, Mr. Mikhail Bogdanov confirmed the continuous support of the Russian Government to Iraq in its war against terrorism, pointing out to that Russia considers Iraq its partner and real friend that has the mutual understandings on various important political issues in the region, and that Russia is seeking to increase the level of bilateral relations with Iraq in various important sectors, and that the Russian companies that works in Iraq in oil and gas fields wants to increase their investments in Iraq.
