Ambassador attends the meeting of foreign Ambassadors at the Russian Foreign Ministry on the situation in the Gulf region.

On July 23, 2019, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Russian Federation, H.E. Haidar Mansour Hadi, attended the meeting called by the Russian Foreign Ministry under the chairmanship of the Russian President’s envoy to Middle East and the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Mikhail Bogdanov to brief on the latest developments in the Gulf region and the question of establishing an international security alliance in the Gulf.

Mr. Bogdanov said that Russia has not yet receive any proposal from the USA or any other country on the establishment of an international coalition to secure the Gulf, but Russia has confirmed the support for the implementation of the concept of collective security in the region, and added that the USA initiative to establish an international coalition to secure the Gulf has not been submitted to Russia, and has not yet submitted any proposal for this alliance, and that what was issued is mere media statements by the USA side. He added that usually there are contacts to clarify what is intended to present, and added that Russia proposes a special concept of collective security in the Gulf region and that this proposal will be presented to all the Ambassadors of the countries present in Russia, as it includes the necessary steps to avoid the escalation in the region.
