Ambassador meets Director of the Institute of oriental studies
On July 4, 2019, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Russian Federation, H.E. Haidar Mansour Hadi, visited the Institute of Oriental studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. During the visit H.E. met the Director of the Institute Mr. Vitaly Naumkin, and discussed with him the possibility of cooperation between the centers of research and studies in Iraq and the Institute. At the beginning of the meeting, H.E. congratulated Mr. Naumkin on the occasion of his awarding by Russian President Vladimir Putin the State Prize of the Russian Federation for Science and Technology on June 12, 2019 as the best Russian specialist in the affairs of the Arab and Islamic worlds. H.E. expressed the pride of the Embassy and its keenness to develop relations with Russia in all fields to serve the interests of both countries.
H.E. explained to Mr. Naumkin the Embassy’s ambition to open channels of communication between the Iraqi research centers and their Russian counterparts especially the most important ones such as the Institute of Oriental studies, which is one of the most important research institutes in Russia, in order to transfer the expertise of such institutes to their Iraqi counterparts in the field of preparing studies and research submitted to the Government in order to use the views contained in them in supporting of its policy-making.
For his part, Mr. Naumkin thanked the Ambassador for his visit and expressed his readiness personally and the staff of the Institute to hold any Agreement or Memorandum of understanding to cooperate with the Iraqi research and studies centers and to work together to exchange experiences between the two sides, to prepare studies and hold symposia which could contribute in the development of the Iraqi – Russian relations.
