Ambassador Dr. Ghassan Luaibi Mnati assumed his duties as Consul General of the Republic of Iraq in Manchester today, Monday, 12 October 2026. He held a meeting with the staff of the Consulate General, during which he emphasised the importance of enhancing the quality of consular services provided to the esteemed Iraqi community, safeguarding their interests, and strengthening communication with them in a manner that helps meet their needs and maintain their ties with their homeland.

He also stressed the importance of benefiting from the expertise and capabilities of members of the Iraqi community and harnessing them in the service of Iraq, contributing to the advancement of its interests, and strengthening its presence and engagement across various fields.
