Visit to Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council

Consul General Dr. Wael Alrobaaie visited Oldham Council in the north of Greater Manchester, where he met the Mayor of the town, Councillor Pam Byrne.
The Mayor of Oldham welcomed the visit. During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance communication and cooperation between the Consulate General and the local government, in addition to discussing a number of topics of mutual interest, in a manner that contributes to supporting members of the Iraqi community and strengthening their presence and engagement with local government institutions in the town.
The two sides also exchanged views on the importance of expanding areas of community and cultural cooperation and ensuring the enhancement of economic and trade cooperation between Iraq and the United Kingdom.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their aspiration to maintain communication and further develop relations in the forthcoming period.
