Consul General visited the Lord Mayor of Manchester

Consul General, Dr. Wael Al-Robaaie, visited the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Shaukat Ali, at Manchester Town Hall and the city’s Central Library.

The visit was held to extend congratulations on the occasion of the Lord Mayor’s appointment to office, which he assumed in May, and to convey best wishes for every success in carrying out his new responsibilities.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between the Consulate General and Manchester City Council in ways that support the Iraqi community in Manchester and its surrounding areas, while encouraging their participation in the city’s cultural and social activities.

The Lord Mayor welcomed the Consul General, reaffirmed his commitment to close cooperation with the Consulate, and praised the positive contributions of the Iraqi community to Manchester.
