Within the framework of the activities of the Consulate General of the Republic of Iraq in Manchester, aimed at supporting scientific and cultural initiatives and enhancing communication with Iraqi professionals in the workforce, the Consulate hosted a scientific lecture delivered by Professor Dr. Abdul Salam Darwish, entitled:

“From Oil to Sun and Wind: Strategic Transformations in Renewable Energy and the Prospects of Energy Security in Iraq.”

The lecture addressed the most prominent global transformations in the energy sector and the accelerating transition toward renewable energy sources. It also discussed the challenges and opportunities facing Iraq in achieving energy security and promoting sustainability.

The lecture was attended by a number of academics and interested participants, during which views were exchanged and scientific discussions were raised, contributing to supporting future directions in Iraq’s energy sector.
