Iraqi nationality certificate

The documents required to apply for the Iraqi nationality certificate (first time issuances)

1. Personal attendance to the General consulate. for schedule an appointment Please click here
2. Iraqi personal ID of the person concerned issued within the last 8 years and a colored copy of it.
3. A copy of Iraqi nationality certificate issued recently for (the father, uncle, brother or sister) to use it as a support document and a Personal ID for the kin attached.
4. Personal photo(8) with a white background(1.5*1.5)
5. After attending to the consulate building in person the applicant should apply for a limited power of attorney so the attorney continues the issuance process in Iraq.
6. Issuance fees for the first time is $ 2 in cash.

The documents required to apply for the Iraqi nationality certificate (damaged or lost).

2. Iraqi personal ID of the person concerned issued within the last 8 years and a colored copy of it.
3. Iraqi nationality certificate the damaged copy if damaged or a copy of it in case it was lost.  
4. Personal photo(8) with a white background(1.5*1.5).
5. After attending to the consulate building in person the applicant should apply for a limited power of attorney so the attorney continues the issuance process in Iraq.
6. The collected fees to obtain Iraqi nationality certificate for damaged or lost is $10 in cash.

Requirements for renounce Iraqi nationality certificate.

1. Personal attendance to the General consulate and fill out the renounce form fingerprint and signature is required in front of the consul. for schedule an appointment Please click here
2. Iraqi original IDs should be attached together with the renounce form.
3. The consulate will send the applicant request to the authorities in Iraq with the original IDs and as soon the consulate get their response, the authorities will be informed.
