The Embassy holds the second edition of the Lisbon Forum

Within the framework of the tireless efforts made by the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Lisbon to open up to the Portuguese side in order to enhance joint cooperation in all fields, and after the important positive results that emerged from the Lisbon Forum (first edition), which is the main pillar for revitalizing the bilateral relationship between the two friendly countries, and in our endeavor to maintain this communication and invest it in the best possible way; The Embassy, ​​in cooperation with the European Foundation for Dialogue and Development (EIDE), the Iraqi Council of Representatives, the Confederation of Portuguese Industries (CIP), and the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIAP), organized the Lisbon Forum (Second Edition) under the title (Strengthening the Partnership between Iraq and Portugal… A Comparative Reading of the Constitution), in the capital Lisbon on (10/21/2024), with the attendance of a number of senior advisors to the Iraqi Council of Representatives headed by Dr. Firas Al-Husseini, the President of the European Foundation for Dialogue and Development (EIDE), Mr. Alaa Al-Bahadli, Mr. Luis Menezes, President of the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (CCIAP), and Mr. Armindo Monteiro, President of the Confederation of Industries (CIP), in addition to the participation of Mr. Vasco D’ Ávila, Head of the Middle East and Maghreb Department at the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and former ministers, including the Portuguese Minister of Economy, Mr. Antonio e Silva, and the former Minister of Health, Alberto Fernandes, and specialists in cybersecurity, clean energy, construction, and the pharmaceutical industry, and important Portuguese political and constitutional figures and businessmen. In addition to the presence of the former ambassador to Portugal, Mr. Hussein Maala.

The forum included two dialogue sessions

– The first session: Future prospects for relations between Iraq and Portugal 🇵🇹🤝🇮🇶.

– The second session: A comparative reading of the constitution.
