Deputy Prime Minister And Foreign Minister Meets Under Secretary Of U.S. Treasury Department

On Friday, March 22, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, met with U.S. Treasury Under Secretary Mr. Brian Nelson at his office in Washington DC.

During the meeting they reviewed bilateral, economic and financial relations as well as issues of common concern, emphasizing the importance of achieving development in order to promote financial and banking sectors, and the reforms undertaken by the Central Bank of Iraq.

In another context, the two sides discussed the Iranian financial dues in the Trade Bank of Iraq TBI, and the way to handle the payments in this regard, they also touched on the situation in the Middle East, in addition to the ongoing war in Gaza and its implications on the economic situation of the countries of the region, underlining the importance of stabilization.
