IRAQI EMBASSY HOLDS A FAREWELL CEREMONY FOR H.E. AMBASSADOR AL-JAFF
On September 22, 2021 the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Ukraine held a farewell ceremony in honor of His Excellency Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Ukraine Mr. Bakir Ahmed Al-Jaff on the occasion of completion of his diplomatic mission. The ceremony was attended by Embassy’s staff, Head and members of the social organization “Iraqi House in Kyiv” and a number of members of the Iraqi Community in Ukraine.
The ceremony began with the playing of the national anthem of the Republic of Iraq, after that H.E. Ambassador Al-Jaff delivered a speech, in which he welcomed the guests and reviewed the efforts made by the Embassy during his five-year tenure and the implementation of the directives issued by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry’s leadership to strengthen bilateral relations between Iraq and Ukraine in various political, economic and security fields, noting that mutual visits of high-level delegations of the two countries, resulted in holding rounds of political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries as well as raising the bilateral trade turnover to a level befitting the potentialities of both countries. In his speech H.E. Ambassador Al-Jaff noted that the Embassy pays special attention to the Iraqi community in Ukraine, particularly provides consular services to them and facilitates obtaining the required documents, despite the financial difficulties and health challenges during his tenure in Ukraine. At the conclusion of his speech, H.E. Mr. Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the guests for their participation in this ceremony, wishing them every success in their work in the interest of Iraq.
For their parts, Chairman of the social organization “Iraqi House in Kyiv” Dr. Adnan Al-Kadhimi, and the second person in the Embassy Mr. Abd-Alsalam Monadel Akef Hammuodi, in addition to a number of Embassy’s staff and guests, delivered speeches in which they praised the role of H.E. Ambassador Al-Jaff in attaining the achievements of the Mission, at the level of bilateral relations and also at the level of direct communication with Iraqi Community in Ukraine, through personal meeting with them and making every effort to solve all the obstacles they might face in Ukraine. The attendees stressed that H.E. Ambassador will leave a good memory, and wished him every success in his future duties at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or in any task that will be assigned to him.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, H.E. Ambassador Al-Jaff invited the attendees to a luncheon. Also commemorative photos were taken on this occasion.
