IRAQ’S AMBASSADOR TO UKRAINE PARTICIPATES IN THE FOUNDATION STONE LAYING CEREMONY FOR MASJID (IMAM AL-ANBIYA) IN ODESA
At the invitation of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine, H.E. Mr. Bakir Ahmed Al-Jaff, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Ukraine participated on September 3, 2021, in the foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of Masjid (Imam Al-Anbiya) in Odesa city. The ceremony was attended by a number of Ukrainian Government officials, Ukrainian and foreign political, social and religious figures, who represent different confessions as well as Heads of Arab and Islamic Diplomatic Missions, accredited to Ukraine, and local and foreign Media which covered the ceremony.
During the ceremony, H.E. Ambassador Al-Jaff delivered a speech, in which he expressed his high appreciation for the model of peaceful coexistence between different religions and nationalities in Ukraine, noting that Iraq is also a multi-religious and multinational country, where people have been living together for thousands of years in peace and harmony, despite the external attempts to sow division among them and, praise be to Allah, all these attempts failed, adding that these models would support political stability in the country. H.E. Ambassador also noted that Islam is a religion of love and peace, and it calls for respecting the beliefs of others, and giving them freedom in their worship. At the conclusion of his speech, H.E. Ambassador Al-Jaff, expressed his gratitude to the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine and His Eminence the Grand Mufti of Ukraine personally for his positive role in promoting the bright image of our true religion, expressing his hope that all religious administrations and institutions in Ukraine would cooperate to contribute towards building a righteous and productive society.
