FOREIGN MINISTER OF THE REPUBLIC OF IRAQ MEETS IRAQ’S AMBASSADOR TO UKRAINE

On November 11, 2020 His Excellency Mr. Fuad Hussein, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq met with His Excellency Mr. Bakir Ahmed Al-Jaff, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Iraq to Ukraine at the Ministry’s headquarters.

Following an exchange of courtesies, H.E Mr. Fuad Hussein reviewed Iraq’s orientations aimed at strengthening its foreign relations with all countries of the world, including friendly Ukraine, noting the importance of further enhancement of bilateral relations between Iraq and Ukraine in various fields. Iraqi Foreign Minister also stressed the need to follow up the affairs of the Iraqi community and Iraqi students studying in various Ukrainian educational institutions, to seek to overcome obstacles and to solve life and academic problems they face.

For his part, H.E. Ambassador Al-Jaff briefed Iraq’s Foreign Minister on issues related to the work of the Embassy in the light of the current political and economic changes, in particular in view of the health prevention measures against the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, pointing out that the Iraqi-Ukrainian relations have witnessed tangible developments recently, praising the continuous cooperation and coordination between the Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Verkhovna Rada and other official institutions and organs of Ukraine.

At the end of the meeting, H.E. Ambassador Al-Jaff expressed gratitude to H.E. Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein for having the opportunity to meet him, confirming his readiness to implement all directives issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs aimed at strengthening relations between Iraq and Ukraine in the interests of the two friendly countries.
