IRAQ’S AMBASSADOR TO UKRAINE RECEIVES A DELEGATION OF THE KYIV GYMNASIUM OF ORIENTAL LANGUAGES №1

On October 7, 2020 His Excellency Mr. Bakir Ahmed Al-Jaff, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Ukraine received at the Embassy’s headquarters the delegation of the Kyiv Gymnasium of Oriental Languages №1, headed by Mrs. Oksana Proskura, director of the Gymnasium.

At the beginning of the meeting, H.E. Ambassador Al-Jaff welcomed the Esteemed Guests and congratulated them on the occasion of the beginning of the new academic year in Ukraine, wishing further progress and advancement in the educational process in Ukrainian schools, and for the overcoming of the consequences of the Coronavirus pandemic so the educational institutions can return to normal in all countries of the world, stressing that the Government of Iraq took all necessary measures in Iraqi educational institutions to prevent the spread of Covid-19, and provide appropriate conditions for all students to continue their academic career, pointing out that the world today is fighting against ignorance and Coronavirus. H.E. Ambassador Al-Jaff also congratulated the Iraqi citizen Mr. Saleh Abed Saleh, who has been working for 26 years at the Kyiv Gymnasium of Oriental Languages №1 as Arabic Language teacher, on his selection as “Honored teacher” by the Kyiv City State Administration recently.

For her part, Mrs Proskura expressed gratitude and appreciation to H.E. Ambassador Al-Jaff for the warm hospitality and reception, praising his interest and continued support of the School’s activities, especially the Arabic Language Department, which was established in 1992 and currently has 119 students, and invited H.E. Ambassador Al-Jaff to attend the Gymnasium’s 85th anniversary celebration next year. She also praised the efforts of the Iraqi teacher Mr. Saleh Abed Saleh in teaching Ukrainian children Arabic language and literature, and his notable social activity to familiarize Ukrainians with Iraqi and Arabic customs and traditions.
