IRAQI EMBASSY’S CHARGE D’AFFAIRES MEETS DIRECTOR OF STATE ENTERPRISE “SPECIALIZED FOREIGN TRADE FIRM “PROGRESS”

On October 27, 2021 Mr. Taan Hussein Abbas Hussein, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Republic of Iraq to Ukraine, Minister Plenipotentiary received at the Embassy’s headquarters Director of State Enterprise “Specialized Foreign Trade Firm “PROGRESS” (which is a member of Ukrainian Defense Industry State Concern “Ukroboronprom”) Mr. Taras Shyiko. The meeting was attended by Iraqi Military Attache Staff Commodore (Navy), Mr. Alshawi Atheer AbdulrhadaJassim, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Ukraine, Counselor Mr. Abd-Alsalam Monadel Akef Hammudi, and from the Ukrainian side, Mr. Poghosyan Karen, representative of the Ukrainian Defense Industry State Concern “Ukroboronprom”.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects for cooperation between Iraqi concerned Bodies and the Ukrainian company specialized in military industry. Chargé d’Affaires stressed that one of the tasks of the Embassy is to coordinate between governmental and private institutions in the two countries, and organize bilateral meetings in various fields, including the security and military fields, in conformity with Iraqi laws so as to serve the national interest of the Republic of Iraq and its official institutions. Chargé d’Affaires also noted that capabilities Ukraine in the field of military industry and Iraq’s need at the present time to develop its security institutions through arming and training to confront global terrorism, encourage the Two Sides to work seriously to raise the level of bilateral cooperation for the benefit of Both Sides.
