HIS EXCELLENCY THE MINISTER OF DEFENCE OF THE REPUBLIC OF IRAQ VISITS UKRAINE

On September 2, 2020, at the invitation of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, an Iraqi High-Level Delegation from the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Iraq, headed by the Minister of Defence, Mr. Jumaah Enad Saadoon arrived to Kyiv on an official visit to Ukraine lasting several days.

The Iraqi Delegation was received at the Boryspil International Airport by H.E. Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Ukraine, Mr. Bakir Ahmed Al-Jaff, accompanied by Iraqi Military Attache Staff Commodore (Navy), Mr. Alshawi Atheer AbdulrhadaJassim as well as Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Mr. Oleksandr Myronyuk, and Director of State Enterprise “Specialized Foreign Trade Firm “PROGRESS” (which is a member of the State Concern “Ukroboronprom”), Mr. TarasShyiko along with a large number of senior officials of the Ministry of Defence and Military-Industrial Complex of Ukraine.

The Iraqi military delegation is to hold talks with the Ukrainian Side on strengthening joint cooperation in the military-technical field, thereby contributing to developing bilateral relations between Iraq and Ukraine in various areas in the interests of the two countries.
