IRAQ’S AMBASSADOR TO UKRAINE ATTENDS THE EXTRAORDINARY SESSION OF THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE TO VOTE ON THE NEW GOVERNMENT

On March 4, 2020 His Excellency Mr. Bakir Ahmed Al-Jaff, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Ukraine attended the Extraordinary plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Ukrainian Parliament) of the ninth convocation, to consider various agenda items. The session was attended by H.E. Mr. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, H.E. Mr. Dmytro Razumkov, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as well as Heads of Diplomatic Missions of foreign states and international organizations accredited in Ukraine.

During the session, the Verkhovna Rada voted in favor of the dismissal of H.E. Mr. Oleksiy Honcharuk, Prime Minister of Ukraine from his post, and appointed H.E. Denys Shmyhal, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine as the new Prime Minister of Ukraine. Verkhovna Rada also approved the composition of the new Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, introduced by the newly appointed Ukraine’s Prime Minister H.E. Denys Shmyhal.
