IRAQ’S AMBASSADOR TO UKRAINE RECEIVES A DELEGATION OF THE IRAQI COMMUNITY IN UKRAINE

On February 11, 2020 His Excellency Mr. Bakir Ahmed Al-Jaff, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Ukraine received at the Embassy’s headquarters a delegation of the Iraqi community in Ukraine, headed by Dr. Adnan Al-Kadhimi, Chairman of the social organization “Iraqi House in Kyiv”.

At the beginning of the meeting H.E. Mr. Ambassador welcomed the Esteemed Guests and touched on the latest developments in Iraq, especially the demands for changes, and the process of forming the upcoming Government, noting that His Excellency President of Iraq Dr. Barham Salih had officially tasked Dr. Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi to form the new government, to succeed the government of Dr. Adel Abdul Mahdi. H.E. Ambassador Al-Jaff also affirmed the Embassy’s readiness to provide all services and facilities to the Iraqi community in Ukraine and take their views and suggestions into consideration.

For their part, the delegation members praised the efforts and continued support extended by the Embassy to the Iraqi community in Ukraine, aiming at solving the problems faced by them in Ukraine, in particular residence permit and educational problems encountered by Iraqi students in Ukrainian higher educational institutions, expressing their hopes for speedy formation of the new Iraqi government, thereby contributing to achieving the desired changes in Iraq.

It is worth mentioning that the Iraqi community participated in a protest organized by Arab communities in Ukraine recently to express their rejection of the so-called “Deal of the century”, and support for the Palestinian cause.
