EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF IRAQ IN JAKARTA FULLY SUPPORTS NATIONAL TEAM’S PARTICIPATION IN THE 2026 ASIAN MINIFOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Jakarta has expressed its full support for the Iraqi Minifootball National Team’s participation in the Asian Minifootball Championship 2026. This international tournament is currently taking place in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, from September 10 to 20, 2026.

The delegation of the Iraqi Minifootball Federation is led directly by the President of the Federation, Mr. Saad Muhaibis Al-Kaabi. The national team’s presence has received special attention from the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq to Indonesia, under the leadership of the Chargé d’Affaires  a.i, Counsellor Mrs. Zainab Abdulhadi Al-Hassany.

To ensure the success of their participation, the embassy has facilitated and provided various administrative conveniences for the entire delegation. This effort was carried out through intensive coordination with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Baghdad, which significantly expedited the entry visa issuance process for the athletes and staff of the Iraqi Minifootball Federation.

Active support continued as embassy staff warmly welcomed the arrival of the Iraqi Minifootball delegation in the early hours of Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The embassy also directly reviewed the tactical readiness and physical condition of the players ahead of the match.

  As a form of direct support on the field, the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Indonesia along with members of the Embassy staff, attended the spectator stands to support the Iraqi National Team in its opening match. The support was followed by a big victory, with the Iraqi National Team securing its first win after defeating the Bangladesh National Team with a score of 14–1.
