“The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Jakarta Commemorates the 12th Anniversary of the Genocide against the Yazidi Component”:

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Jakarta held a stand in solidarity on Thursday, 6 August 2026, to commemorate the 12th anniversary of the genocide and crimes groups humanity committed against members of the Yazidi component by the terrorist ISIS.

In her remarks on this occasion, the Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Counsellor Zeinab Abdul Hadi Al-Hassani, stated that the 3rd of August of each year is observed as a National Day of Solidarity with the Yazidis and other components of Iraqi society who suffered from the atrocities and violations perpetrated by these criminal gangs.

She also highlighted the governmental efforts undertaken pursuant to the Yazidi Survivors Law No. (8) of 2021, along with a number of measures aimed at compensating the victims, preserving their dignity, and reparation for the damage caused.

The vigil concluded with the recitation of Surat Al-Fatiha in memory of the souls of the martyrs of this tragic tragedy, and of all the martyrs of Iraq.
