The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad accepts the invitation extended to him by the Pakistani Senate.
In response to the invitation addressed to H.E. Mr. Hamid Abbas Lafta, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad, by Mr. Mushahid Hussain / Chairman of the Standing Committee for Foreign Affairs in the Pakistani Senate, and Senator Ms. Stara Iyaz, the Ambassador accepted the invitation. During the meeting, the history of Iraq, its civilization, its geographical importance and the role that it can play in international arena as influential power has been discussed.
Mr. Mashahid pointed out the convergence of international positions between Iraq and Pakistan, especially with regard to the Palestinian issue, the fight against extremist terrorism, and the constants of foreign policy.
The two sides agreed to maintain communication that would push bilateral relations to farther horizons that would achieve interests and eliminate risks.
