The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad receives a number of heads of Iraqi universities.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad, Mr. Hamid Abbas Lafta, has received in his office on 20/3/2023 a delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research consisting of the President of Wasit University, Professor Dr. Mazen Hassan Jassem Al-Hasani, and the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, during their attendance of the Fifth Forum of Presidents of Universities of the Islamic World, which was held in Islamabad during the period from 19-20/3/2023, under the slogan “Universities of the Islamic World Towards Revolutionary Technology in the World of Globalization”.

    During the meeting, they discussed prospects for scientific cooperation and cultural exchange, and ways to benefit from Pakistani universities through memorandums of understanding and exchange of experiences between the two countries.

     While attending the conference, the heads of Iraqi universities conveyed the idea of the scholarship exchange program (Study in Iraq) offered by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its universities, which will provide more opportunities for academic, research, training and scientific partnerships between Iraqi universities and their counterparts in the world.

    The universities presidents, accompanied by His Excellency the Ambassador, visited the Pakistani Surgical Instruments Exhibition in response to the invitation extended to them, and were briefed on the quality of locally manufactured surgical instruments and medical devices, ways to open prospects for cooperation between the two sides, and opportunities to benefit from them.

    The universities presidents expressed their thanks to His Excellency the Ambassador for the warm reception and their appreciation for the continuous communication on the part of the Embassy for the success of their official mission, and presented a souvenir to His Excellency the Ambassador on this occasion.
