The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Islamabad meets with the Pakistani Minister of Defense.
H.E Mr. Hamid Abbas Lafta, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad, on 29/9/2020, paid a courtesy call upon H.E. Mr. Pervez Khattak, Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The two sides exchanged expressions of welcome and acquaintance, while the Minister thanked the Ambassador for his interest and follow-up on issues of common interest.
The Ambassador conveyed the greetings of His Excellency the Iraqi Minister of Defense, General Juma’a Anad Al-Jubouri, stressing upon the strengthening of cooperation in the field of defense, and benefiting from the accumulated experiences of both military institutions, including the development of the capabilities of the Iraqi armed forces, in accordance with common interests.
Mr. Ambassador talked about the issue of the Iraqi officers who are getting training by participating in the courses held by the Pakistani side, the means of support that should be provided to them, and the success of their mission.
The two sides agreed to maintain communication and follow up on issues related to the military side, which would achieve mutual benefit.
