Mr. Hamid Abbas Lafta, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad, that has a military character, The Ambassador has visited Pakistan Ordnance Factories in Taxila on 18/8/2020, accompanied by a number of staff of the Embassy. Lt. Gen. Bilal Akbar, Chairman of POF Board and a number of production officials received the delegation. General Bilal expressed his welcome for this visit, considering it a mission, expressing his provision of all kinds of support required for the Iraqi military establishment. The Ambassador indicated that Pakistan is a fundamental and important partner and it is linked with Iraq by common factors, including the military field, especially since the Iraqi army has a long-standing institution known as the (Military Industries Organization) that can invest cooperation to achieve mutual benefit for both countries. The Ambassador made a field tour to the factory and was briefed on the manufacturing mechanism and POF products, expressing his admiration for the weapons produced and their range and efficiency. The Ambassador invited the factory’s officials to visit Iraq to talk about a specific and appropriate mechanism that can be of benefit in this field.
