The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad organizes a reception for the Iraqi community residing in Pakistan.
With the great participation of the Iraqi community residing in various cities of Pakistan, and in implementation of the directives of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry regarding the need to maintain contact with members of the distinguished Iraqi community in Pakistan.
The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad organized a dinner, on the evening of Sunday 15/12/2019, for the Iraqi community and their families.
The reception began with playing of the Iraqi national anthem and reciting Surat ul Fatihah in respect of the martyrs of Iraq.
Then the Acting Charge d’ Affairs, Mr. Abdul Salam Saddam, delivered a speech on this occasion, in which he thanked the community members for their respond to this invitation, and praised the heroism of our Iraqi Army, the Police, the Popular Crowd, the Tribesmen, the Peshmerga and all other formations of the security forces, who achieved the triumphant and significant victory over the terrorist (ISIS) gangs, and provided convoys of martyrs and wounded for our wounded country.
Pointing out, at the same time, to the determination and strong will that came in response to the call of the country and the fatwa of the rational religious authority.
As the embassy’s efforts during this year and its plans to develop and strengthen relations between the two countries that reflect its vision and its endeavor to invest in expertise and capabilities and take benefit from them for both countries were discussed.
In addition to talking about the nature of consular work in the embassy, he indicated that this department has a lot of tasks in overcoming all the difficulties they face in the community in various fields.
At the end of the reception, the embassy presented a number of symbolic gifts to the community members, in appreciation of their distinguished efforts, and in appreciation of their contributions in providing a bright image of Iraq and the Iraqis.
The participants expressed their gratitude to the embassy staff for giving them opportunity to meet and the kind invitation which indicates the keenness of the embassy and the leadership of the Ministry to communicate with the Iraqi community in Pakistan to serve them and meet their needs.
