Acting Chargé d’ Affairs in the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq pays a courtesy call upon the Foreign Secretary at the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.



The Acting Chargé d’ Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad Counselor Mr. Abdul Salam Saddam Muhaisen, paid a courtesy call on 4/10/2019, upon Mr. Sohail Mahmood Foreign Secretary at the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
 
During the meeting, the situations of the two countries and their common interests and risks have been discussed and the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of their development in various fields have been reviewed.
 
Both sides also discussed various issues pertaining to Embassy’s work, particularly the Arbaeniya visit of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, referring to the recent authorization letter granted to the heads of Iraqi political and consular missions abroad to grant the tourist visa to the visitors of the Holy Shrines in Iraq, with the exception of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad from this authorization as the Pakistani visitors are granted the visit visa through the approval only from the Directorate of Residence Affairs in Iraq.
 
It is to be highlighted that the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad received on 4/10/2019, a letter from the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, requesting the Iraqi government to review the consideration of this exception in the interest of both countries.
 
On his Part, the Acting Chargé d’ Affairs pointed out that the Iraqi Embassy is committed, in accordance with the regulations and instructions, to provide all services out of its job obligations, as well as paying great attention to the subject of religious visit visas to Pakistani pilgrims and in the interest of both sides.
