Acting Chargé d’ Affairs in the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq meets the Director General, Middle East Division at the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Acting Chargé d’ Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad Counselor Mr. Abdul Salam Saddam Muhaisen, met on 2/10/2019, the Director General, Middle East Division at the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Syed Zahid Raza, accompanied by Mr. Uday Adnan Ibrahim, Consul at the Embassy. During the meeting, the situations of the two countries and their common interests and risks have been discussed and the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of their development in various fields have been reviewed. The discussions have been made for signing of Memorandums of Understanding and Agreements concerning the two sides and the ways to trigger them, going through the talks about the participation of a number of Iraqi diplomats in the courses to be held in Pakistan, which will boost joint cooperation in many areas of training and practical programs that raise the quality of the knowledge aspect in the level of Diplomatic work and related protocol obligations. Both sides also discussed the issue of the Arbaeeniya visit of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, referring to the recent authorization letter granted to the heads of Iraqi political and consular missions abroad to grant the tourist visa to the visitors of the Holy Shrines in Iraq, with the exception of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad from this authorization as the Pakistani visitors are granted the visit visa through the approval from the Directorate of Residence Affairs in Iraq and through the single window. Pakistani side requested the Iraqi side to review the consideration of this exception in order to serve the mutual interests of both countries.
