The national card issuance fee is 6,000 Iraqi dinars. It is paid by MasterCard or Visa card, and the equivalent amount in US dollars is deducted.

Lost national card.
Q: What are the procedures required before a citizen can apply for a national card for their children?

1: The citizen must have verified their marriage with the Civil Status Department in their personal record.
2- The citizen must have registered the birth of the newborn with the family’s Civil Status Department.
3- After verifying the above, the citizen can submit a request to the consulate to obtain a national ID card for his or her son, within the stated and announced procedures.

Q- How much are the consular fees for an electronic passport? And how are these fees paid?
Answer
The fee for issuing an electronic passport is equivalent to $73.06 US dollars. These fees are paid by bank card (MasterCard or Visa).
Q: Will Iraqi identification documents (civil status ID and nationality certificate) be suspended for Iraqis abroad, as announced by the Iraqi Ministry of Interior (Directorate of Nationality and Civil Status)?
Answer: No. This decision does not apply to Iraqis abroad. Rather, the civil status ID and nationality certificate will be suspended for Iraqis inside Iraq only, effective March 1, 2024.

Answer:
Consular fees for all transactions must be paid in cash in US dollars only, except for applications for electronic passports and national ID cards, in which case consular fees must be paid by bank card (MasterCard or Visa). To learn about all consular fees, click here.
Q: Is it possible for an Iraqi holding a US passport to travel to Iraq without an entry visa?
Answer: Yes, because the electronic visa application procedures do not include Iraqis who hold Iraqi documents.
Arabs and foreigners wishing to enter the Republic of Iraq must obtain an entry visa in advance by applying for an electronic visa. Click here.
The entry visa fee is $75.
The visa type is regular, and the traveler must visit the Directorate of Residence Affairs within ten days of their arrival.
Arab and foreign visitors must register on the electronic platform to schedule an appointment and location for examination upon entry into Iraq if their stay exceeds (15) fifteen days. For more information, click here.

Q – What are the requirements for issuing an Iraqi death certificate?
Answer:
An Iraqi death certificate is issued to Iraqis who died in the United States.
The death certificate application form must be completed exclusively by the deceased’s family. Click here
Original US death certificate certified by the Secretary of State (US State Department) in the state. Please note that the original US death certificate will be retained by the consulate for transmission to the relevant Iraqi authorities and will not be returned to the applicant.
Submit the deceased’s Iraqi citizenship documents to the consulate (original Iraqi citizenship certificate, original civil status ID, national ID card, original Iraqi passport).
If the deceased’s civil status ID is not available, the wife’s civil status ID may be used, provided that the marriage is documented on the ID or the civil status ID of one of the unmarried children.
The applicant’s US residency or State ID card.
Q: Is it possible to issue a general or special power of attorney, and what are the required documents?

Yes: Powers of attorney of attorney can be issued at the Consulate General. The requirements are:
The principal must appear before the consul to verify their identity when issuing the power of attorney.
Bring one of the original Iraqi identification documents along with a copy.
A clear copy of the identification documents (for the agent).
Four (4) recent personal photos (for the principal) (“2 x 2” with a white background).

Q: Is it possible to issue a life certificate and a retirement certificate, and what are the requirements?
Answer:
Yes, both life certificates and retirement certificates can be issued at the Consulate General. The requirements are:
Personal attendance at the Consulate building. Original civil status ID, Iraqi nationality certificate, unified ID card, or Iraqi passport, and a copy thereof. A retirement ID or a copy thereof for the retiree, with the effective date at the end of each year. Two (2) recent personal photos (“2 x 2” with a white background), issued no more than six months ago.
Q: What are the consular fees for life certificates and retirement certificates?

The consular fee is $20 (cash only).
