The Consulate General of Republic of Iraq in Detroit would like to present its best greetings to the Iraqi community and announce the new systematic method of applying for birth and death certificates according to the following instructions:

Select applying for Birth or Death Certificate, fill the application form fields online with right accurate information from the original document, therefore, accuracy is a must before printing and sending.

We also would like to point out to the starting of implementation of the Law No.21 in 2024 for registering births and deaths on September 23^rd ,2024 including its late fees, noting that births and death certificates before the above-mentioned dates.

Late fees for birth certificates:

One time only, 20$ late fee of 60 days after the birth date for six months.

58 $ late fee for each month after the period of six months starting past the date of birth.

Late fees for Death Certificates:

       1.one time only, 20$ late fee after 30 days of the death date after six months.

       2. 58 $ late fee for each month after the period of six months starting past   the date of death.
