The Ambassador ALRIKABI receives the MEP Mr. Mick Wallace, the Rapporteur of Iraq in the European Parliament

Ambassador Sadiq ALRIKABI received on the 12/3/2021, at the Embassy of Iraq in Brussels the MEP Mr. Mick Wallace Rapporteur of Iraq in the European Parliament, from the Left group in the European Parliament (GUE/NGL).

During the meeting, the cooperation prospects and ways to enhance the work between the two sides, and the intention of Mr. Wallace to visit Iraq by the end of this month were discussed.

The Ambassador highlighted the common interests and mutual threats between Iraq and the EU, and welcomed Mr. Wallace intention to visit Iraq and call upon him to seize his position as a Rapporteur of Iraq in the European Parliament to strengthening the relation between the two sides. Ambassador ALRIKABI also offers his support for Mr. Wallace anticipated visit to Iraq by the end of March, and the possibility to facilitate meetings with Iraqi officials.

Mr. Wallace expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for receiving him in the Embassy, and stressed his willingness to continue supporting Iraq in the European parliament, and affirm that his visit to Iraq by the end of this month will involve following closely the political and social conditions in order to raise the level of support for Iraq in meetings of various committees in the European Parliament.
