Ambassador Sadiq Al-Rikabi met the Head of the Iraqi-Belgian Friendship Committee

On 13th of December 2019, the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Kingdom of Belgium, Mr. Sadiq Al-Rikabi met in his the Parliament member and the Head of the Iraqi-Belgian Friendship Committee, Mr. Georges Dallemagne where they discussed bilateral relations between Iraq and Belgium and possiblities to enhance cooperation in the political, security and economic fields.

Both sides also discussed the regional developments and challenges facing Iraq after the Iraqi great victory over ISIS and the importance of continuing collaboration to confront violent extremism ideology.

The meeting also stressed about the importance of European support in advancing Iraq’s economy through the investment and developing in the private sector which will contribute in creating job opportunities for the Iraqi people. Furthermore, the meeting discussed the role of the scientific and educational cooperation between the two countries and the necessity of enhancing exchange mechanisms between Iraqi and Belgian universities, which will help to establish a practical ground in several areas of scientific cooperation to benefit from distinguished Belgian experiences in developing educational and health sectors in Iraq.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Dilmani thanked Ambassador Al-Rikabi for this meeting and expressed his willingness to continue future communications to serve the interest of the two countries.
