Ambassador Sadiq Al Rikabi received at the Embassy of the Repuclic of Iraq, ​​the Director of the Middle East Group in the Council of the European Union, “Mr. Roberto Storagi”

On 17/10/2019, Ambassador Sadiq Al Rikabi received at the Embassy of the Repuclic of Iraq,  ​​the Director of the Middle East Group in the Council of the European Union, “Mr. Roberto Storagi”.   Mr. Storagi  Presenid a brief description about the work of the Directorate  and their role in preparing the issues to be discussed at the ministerial level in the EU Council. He pointed out that Iraq is currently seen as an important partner of the European Union and is clearly supported by all member states of the European Union, he also present  an invitation to host Ambassador Rikabi to attend the meetings of the above-mentioned group at the headquarter of the European Union for the purpose of discussing ways to promote relations between Iraq and the European Union and clarify Iraq ‘s view of the political situation in the region in general.

Ambassador Al-Rikabi thanked Mr. Storaji for the information provided and for his invitation to attend the meetings of the aforementioned group , and  stressed that Iraq will continue  to develop the relationship with the European Union through activating the partnership and cooperation agreement between the two parties and keep positive communication with all the institutions of the European Union and its counterparts in Iraq.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Storaji expressed his thanks and gratitude for the good reception and indicated that he looks forward to meeting with the ambassador on a regular basis in order to decision makers on the direction of Iraq in all issues of Mutual interests. The meeting was attended by Minister Plenipotentiary D. Fadhel AL-Rahim and second -secretary Maytham Salman
