Ambassador Sadiq AL-Rikabi meets the Head of Asia Department in European Investment Bank

Ambassador Sadiq Al-Rikabi/ Head of Iraq Mission to the European Union held a virtual meeting with Mr.Edvardas Bumsteinas Head of Division for Operations in Asia in the EIB to discuss the latest development pertaining to the Framework Agreement between the Republic of Iraq and the European Investment Bank

The two sides affirmed the importance of the Iraqi-European relations and the importance of seizing upon the opportunities provided by the European Union for their partner countries in various fields and the prominent partnership of Iraq to the EU. Mr.Bumsteinas also reaffirmed that the EIB is one of the key financials tools for the EU and the EIB is fully prepared to assist Iraq in all fields and provides its expertise to the Iraqi financial institutions especially that Iraq is need of a lot of developments projects, also expressed the readiness of the EIB to hold more meetings in order to conclude a final framework agreement.

H.E  Ambassador.AL-Rikabi clarified that the Mission of the Republic of Iraq to the European Union is on constants contact with relevant authorities in Baghdad  in order to complete the ongoing negotiations between Iraq and the EIB to conclude a final framework agreement
