Foreign Minister Discusses with his Belgian Counterpart Importance of Continuing Bilateral Cooperation on Political, Economic and Security Levels
Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with his Belgian counterpart, Mr. Philippe Goffin.
Minister Fuad Hussein praised Belgium’s position in support of Iraq, especially in its war against Da’esh terrorist organization. The two Ministers discussed ways to develop bilateral relations between the two countries and the importance of continuing cooperation on the political, economic and security levels.
Minister Fuad Hussein also touched on developments in the political situation in Iraq, and the government’s decision to hold early elections next June, indicating that the government seeks to make the upcoming elections free and fair elections that enjoy the confidence of the people.
The two sides also emphasized the importance of continuing bilateral political and diplomatic consultations between the two sides. The meeting also witnessed an exchange of visions on current international and regional issues of common interest.
On his part, Mr. Goffin expressed his government’s interest in developing relations between the two countries in all fields.
