Ambassador Sadiq Al-Rikabi presents his credentials as Head of the Iraqi Mission to the European Union

On 23/7/2020, His Excellency Ambassador Sadiq Al-Rikabi presented his credentials as Head of the Iraqi Mission to the European Union to the President of the European Council, Mr. Charles Michel, at the European Union headquarters in Brussels.
During the ceremony, the Ambassador conveyed the greetings of His Excellency Dr. Barham Salih the President of the Republic of Iraq, and the Iraqi government, stressing Iraq’s willingness to enhance the bilateral relations with the European Union in various fields and putting into force the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) between Iraq and the European Union, as well as benefiting from the EU capabilities and expertise in various political, economic and security fields.
For his part, the President of the European Council stressed the importance of Iraq as an important regional player, praised the formation of the new government and stressed the importance of its success in its upcoming tasks, while emphasizing the European Union’s willingness to provide the assistance and support that the Iraqi government deems appropriate.
