Ambassador Sadiq AL-Rikabi met with the newly appointed non-resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Iraq Mr. Filip Vanden Bulcke.

On September 23, 2019, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom of Belgium, H.E. Sadiq AL-Rikabi met with the newly appointed non-resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Iraq Mr. Filip Vanden Bulcke.

During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relationship between the two countries and matters of mutual interest. They also discussed the possibility of reopening the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Baghdad, which represents an important and positive message to further strengthen the bilateral ties between Iraq and Belgium in political, security, economic fields.

For his part, Ambassador Bulcke confirmed his readiness to maintain the communication between Iraq and Belgium through official channels as well as continuing political consultations between the two countries in order to enhance the security and intelligence cooperation.
