New Ambassador Submits Copy of Credentials to Chinese MFA

On 26 August 2025, H.E. Mr. Hong Lei, Director of the Protocol Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, accepted the submission of a copy of the Credentials of the new ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to People’s Republic of China, Mr. Ahmad Tahsin Berwari.

During the meeting, Ambassador-designate Berwari highlighted the substantial development of Iraq-China relations and said that the Iraqi side attaches high importance to its relations with China, and expressed willingness to, push Iraq-China strategic partnership for a greater development during his tenure.

Mr. Hong Lei said that the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide support and practical cooperation with the ambassador-designate to ensure his success in his duties and to promote Iraq-China bilateral relations.
