The Third Round of Political Consultations between Iraq and China

The Third Round of Political Consultations between Iraq and China held on 24/6/2021, via video link, where the Iraqi Side was represented by the First Deputy Minister Nazar Al-Khairullah, and the Chinese side was represented by Assistant Foreign Minister Deng Li.

The consultations between the two sides focused several topics including strengthening bilateral relations, cooperation in the pandemic response, activating framework agreements in various fields, participation of Chinese enterprises in Iraqi strategic projects, Belt and Road Initiative, and cooperation in combating terrorism. furthermore the two sides discussed regional and international affairs, concerning security and stability in the Middle East , building a multilateral platform in the Gulf, the Iranian nuclear issue, and Syrian crises and Palestinian issue.
