Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs meets his Pakistani counterpart in Abu Dhabi
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Fuad Hussain, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, on the sidelines of his participation in the work of the thirteenth session of the Sir Bani Yas Forum, which is being organized by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
During the meeting, they discussed the distinguished bilateral relations, ways to strengthen them and expand their horizons, and the importance of continuing cooperation, especially in the military, economic and commercial fields, to serve the common interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples.
Minister Fouad Hussein referred to the high-level visits made by senior officials from both countries during the past period, and their great importance in strengthening relations between the two friendly countries.
The Minister presented an overview of the developments of the political process in Iraq, the formation of the new Iraqi government and the features of the next stage, expressing his optimism in the ability of the new government to manage the state and face the current challenges that surround the region and the world.
The two sides also discussed the issue of facilitating the procedures for obtaining entry visas for Pakistanis to Iraq for religious tourism. Minister Fuad Hussain stressed that Iraq does everything in its power to serve visitors, especially during the seasons of religious visits, of all nationalities, including those coming from Pakistan.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to arrange a visit by the Pakistani Foreign Minister to Iraq early next year, within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
