Minister of Foreign Affairs Participates in the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Arab Contact Group on Ukraine Crisis
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Fuad Hussein, has participated in the meeting of foreign ministers of the Arab Contact Group on the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, with the presence of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Dr Ahmed Aboul Gheit and the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, which is being held in New York, within the framework of Arab mediation efforts to find a diplomatic solution to the crisis in Ukraine.
The Minister emphasized that the continuation of the Ukrainian crisis places the international community face to face with a historical, moral and humanitarian responsibility, calling for intensifying efforts and unifying regional and international endeavours in the field of ensuring food security for the peoples of the world and securing energy supply, As the repercussions of this crisis exceeded its geographical borders that today threaten the security and stability in the world.
The foreign ministers of Iraq, Egypt, Algeria, Jordan and the representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have attended the meeting.
